CS373 Spring 2021: Jaden Hyde

What did you do this past week?

This past week, I met with my group to begin working on Phase 1 of the project!

What’s in your way?

Right now, I don’t think there’s really anything in my way. I’m mainly just trying to work on getting ahead in my classes so that I don’t have to do any work over spring break.

What will you do next week?

This upcoming week I’ll work with my group on finishing Phase 1 of the project and begin working on Phase 2.

If you read it, what did you think of the Single Responsibility Principle?

I thought it was definitely an interesting concept! It’s not something that I had ever really thought about or read about before, but I can see how the Single Responsibility Principle is important to keep in mind when coding.

What was your experience of IDB1 and reduce? (this question will vary, week to week)

My experience of IDB1 was good! My group was able to meet over Zoom and get finish earlier in the week. And I thought reduce was pretty straightforward, but I definitely think it will be a useful tool!

How did you fare in the storm?

My roommates and I were lucky enough to not lose power or water (except for in our kitchen), but we had quite a few friends that did lose power and water that came to stay with us.

What made you happy this week?

It was nice to be able to get out and go to the park by my house! I was feeling really cooped up last week and being able to get out of the house was really nice.

What’s your pick-of-the-week or tip-of-the-week?

I know that we’re not using React for the project yet, but Microsoft has a really great React UI called Fluent UI that’s super easy to use and looks very clean!
